This is a larger yellow Trinidad Scorpion with rougher skin and thinner walls than the more traditional yellow scorpion. This strain is often sold as the Trinidad Scorpion CARDI or CARDI yellow. However, we have yet to note the Caribbean Agricultural Reasearch & Development Institute (CARDI) offer such seed stock.
This is a much larger pepper. We have seen the rare pod reach near tennis ball sizes. It is not as prolific as the smaller traditional yellow scorpion but makes a much better stuffing pepper.

Trinidad Scorpion Yellow Large
The yellow Trinidad Scorpion Pepper hales from Trinidad, the largest land mass in the South American island nation Trinidad and Tobago. Although a member of the ‘Capsicum chinense’ family, all Capsicum varieties originated in the Americas. The name ‘chinense’ was used in this classification erroneously by botanist Nikolaus Joseph Freiherr von Jacquin due to its use in Chinese cuisine. However, the European spice trade was responsible for discovering the capsicum variety in the Americas and spreading them to distant lands.
