Flashbang Hot Sauce in Review

Flashbang hot sauce gets my first negative review to date.  It starts off something like this: Oh dear God why?  I do not think this should be called a hot sauce at all, it is an extract that pretends to be a hot sauce.  With that in mind, one positive thing I can say about it is that if you are looking for pure heat to add to your own creations this is one of the most affordable ways to purchase capsicum as a food additive.

Red Tail hot sauce with Trinidad Moruga Scorpion peppers

Red Tail hot sauce is based on the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion pepper and it shows that well in more than just its heat.  The flavor of the scorpion pepper is distinct despite all of its heat.  This is not a sauce for the timid.  It is one of the hottest non-extract based sauces I have sampled thus far.

Killer Swarm Hot Sauce in Review

Killer Swarm with Trinidad Moruga Scorpion Peppers

Killer Swarm by Pex Peppers tastes like liquid Trinidad Moruga Scorpion peppers minus just a little bit of the capsicum.  This being one of my favorite super hot peppers,I loved this sauce.  It tastes so very much like the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion that even the vinegar seems toned down compared to many sauces.  I suspect Pex Peppers found the perfect balance between vinegar and honey that neither takes away from the pure flavor of the pepper.  Neither sweet nor sour is particularly noticeable.  Instead, you get the pure, crisp, and hot flavor of the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion.

Moruga Madness hot sauce by CaJohn’s Fiery Foods does not break with CaJohn’s long standing tradition of providing flavor in addition to heat.  The flavor and heat of the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion is certainly in there, but it is not by itself.

CaJohn’s Trinidad Scorpion Hot Sauce

Made with the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion pepper, one would think this sauce would send a person screaming with flames jetting from their mouth. Instead, the heat is quite a bit more than most hot sauces but not so much that the flavor of the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion or other ingredients are masked by the capsicum.
